Spotify emailed UK subscribers this week to say Premium prices are going up. It’s the third rise in three years, and it brings the Individual plan to £12.99 a month, or £155.88 a year.
If you pay through Apple or Google, the new price applies at your next renewal after 29 November. If you pay Spotify directly, you’ll see it on your first bill after that date.
| Plan | Now | From Nov | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | £11.99 | £12.99 | +£12 |
| Duo | £16.99 | £17.99 | +£12 |
| Family | £19.99 | £21.99 | +£24 |
| Student | £5.99 | £6.49 | +£6 |
Three ways to pay less
- 1. Go Duo. If you live with someone who also pays for Spotify, Duo costs £17.99 for two. That’s £8 a month less than two Individual plans.
- 2. Check your phone contract. Some UK mobile plans include Spotify Premium. If yours does, you could be paying twice. Subpool flags this automatically.
- 3. Try YouTube Music or Apple Music for a month. Both have similar catalogues, and switching is easier than it used to be.
